Paint 3 coats for a solid color, 1 or 2 coats will be streaky. They do need to dry in between coats.
If you use a hair dryer to dry paint, hold the hair dryer at least 6 inches away from piece.
The paint will crack if it dries too fast, and you will see cracks after firing, so make sure you are 6 inches away.
If you want a white background, you don’t need to paint it. Everything gets dipped in
clear glaze when you return your piece. Pencil and sharpie burns away in the kiln. You can draw lightly
with a #2 pencil or sharpie if you want to sketch out a design.
You do not need to add water to the paint. You can wipe piece down with a damp sponge before painting, if dusty.
Make sure you squeeze all the water out before wiping.
